Bandwidth Sharing Agreement
This agreement explains exactly what happens to your internet connection when you run the IdlePay app. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. What the app does
While the app runs, IdlePay routes internet traffic from our business customers and partner networks through your connection. To the websites they reach, that traffic appears to come from your IP address. In exchange you earn a share of the revenue your connection generates.
2. Who uses your connection
Only vetted businesses and partner networks that have agreed to acceptable-use terms, for purposes such as public web data collection, price and ad verification, content availability and performance testing. We don't publish the list of partners, but every one of them is bound by rules at least as strict as this agreement.
3. What is always blocked
- Your local network: your router, your devices and every private or reserved address range.
- The machine running the app itself.
- Email sending (SMTP ports 25, 465 and 587), so your IP can't be used for spam.
- Destinations and ports on our blocklist for abuse prevention.
These rules are enforced twice: on our servers before traffic reaches you, and again by the app on your machine after the destination is resolved.
4. What we can and can't see
We record connection metadata — how many bytes each connection carried, when, and its destination host and port — to pay you, bill customers and handle abuse. Most traffic is encrypted end to end (HTTPS), so neither you nor we can read its contents. The app never inspects or stores the contents of traffic on your machine.
5. Your responsibilities
- Only share connections you own or are authorized to share, and check that your internet provider's terms allow it.
- One account per person. Don't create accounts for others or link devices you don't control.
- Don't disguise a datacenter, VPN or hosted connection as a home connection.
- Don't tamper with, intercept or modify traffic passing through your connection, or with the app itself.
Breaches are detected automatically and may lead to suspension and the reversal of affected earnings.
6. Abuse reports
If you receive a complaint about traffic from your connection, let us know. We investigate, block the responsible customer where appropriate and support you in responding.
7. Earnings
Earnings depend on your location, connection type and demand; there is no guaranteed income. Earnings are confirmed after each day closes and held for a review period before they can be withdrawn. Earnings found to be fraudulent, or reversed by the partner that paid for them, may be reversed.
8. Stopping
You can stop the app or remove a device from your dashboard at any time; it is cut off immediately. Available earnings remain yours to withdraw under the Terms.
